Elias Fabila, 65, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at his home in Tahoka. Services for Mr. Fabila will be 2:00p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Anton with Father John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Anton Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. A rosary will be held 7:00p.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel in Lubbock.
Elias was born December 5, 1953 in Brownfield to Willie and Ester Fabila. He was a farmer and also worked in construction during his life. Elias graduated from Estacado High School in 1972 and was a member of the ROTC. He loved life and was no stranger to anyone in need of help. He loved to listen to music, work on the yard, staying busy all the time but particularly loved to play Bingo
He is preceded in death by his father Willie Fabila (1966), a brother Willie Fabila Jr., two sisters, Modesta Garcia, Florinda Gotchar.
He is survived by his mother Ester Cardenas of Lubbock, a special friend Katy Martin of Tahoka; one son Jeffrey (Amy) Fabila of Brownfield; one daughter Becky Fabila of Lubbock; five brothers Henry Fabila and David Fabila of Lubbock, Robert Fabila of San Antonio, Mike Reyna and Manuel Reyna from Anton; seven sisters Benita Garcia of Wichita Falls, Luisa Rios of Michigan, Amelia Fabila of Austin, Elizabeth Cristian and Virginia Reyna both of Lubbock, Sylvia Martinez of Brownfield, and Susie Fabila of Round Rock, Texas; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren.
