Viewing and visitation for Anita S. Flores, 84 of Tahoka will begin 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, 2023, with a rosary beginning at 6:00 pm the same day at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel in Tahoka. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 13, 2023, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Tahoka with Father Sylvester D'Souza officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.
Anita S. Flores, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away in the early morning on July 9, 2023.
She was born on April 29, 1939, in Comales, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to her loving parents Ramon and Julia Sanchez. Later in life on January 24, 1960, Anita went onto marry Alberto "Beto" Flores Sr., cherishing forty-one years of a loving marriage before his passing on June 12, 2001.
Anita dedicated her life to caring for her family and embraced the role of a homemaker with grace and love. Her selflessness knew no bounds as she tirelessly worked to create a warm and nurturing environment for her loved ones. Her commitment to family was unwavering. Additionally, she had a talent for cooking delicious meals and had a sweet tooth herself, Anita took immense pleasure in seeing others gathering around the table to enjoy her treats and creations.
Beyond her role as a homemaker, Anita found fulfillment through her involvement in the Catholic organization of the Guadalupanas. She actively served her community and church by promoting the faith and love of God in everything she did.
Anita's hobbies also included gardening which everyone knew she had a green thumb, watching novelas and crotcheing.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Alberto "Beto" Flores Sr., her parents Ramon and Julia Sanchez, and a loving daughter Belinda Davila.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her four children: Alberto Flores Jr. of Lubbock, Erik Jones of Lubbock, Maria Estella Florez of Tahoka, and Sulema Flores of Tahoka. A brother Ramiro Sanchez of Baytown, two sisters Antonia Sanchez of Pierdras Negras, Mexico, and Fela Perez of Baytown; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
