Connie Mendez

Connie F. Mendez, 58 passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Lubbock.  Services for Mrs. Mendez will be 10:00 am Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Holy Ghost Victory Praise with Pastor Eleazar Lara officiating.  Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Tuesday at 9:00 am with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel.

Connie was born November 24, 1959 in Rotan to Jesus & Genoveva Flores.  She married Henry Mendez Sr. on February 14, 1975 in Lubbock.  A member of Holy Ghost Victory Praise, Connie loved to pray, worship and sing.  She was a great believer who enjoyed going to garage sales and making her famous tortillas.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and being the amazing mother and grandmother that she always was.

She is survived by her husband Henry Mendez; seven sons, Henry Mendez Jr. & wife Diana, Jerry Mendez & wife Jeanette, Chris Mendez, Jessie Mendez, Timothy Mendez & wife Virginia, Mark Mendez & wife Jennifer, Michael Mendez all of Lubbock; five daughters, Marlene Reyna & husband Martin, Bernice Mendez, Patricia Mendez, Regina Skinner & husband Shon, Anna Mendez all of Lubbock; one brother, Manuel Flores of Lubbock; six sisters, Elena Garcia of CO, Lisa Ortega, Juana Navarrete both of Lubbock, Estella Aredondo of Floydada, Henriqueta Morales of FL, Lucia Reyes of Happy; thirty three grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by three sisters, Isabel Paz, Genoveva Galicia, Mary Quevedo; one niece, Helen Vasquez
