She was born on June 6, 1935, to the late Espiridion and Manuela Martinez. Corina’s journey through life was marked by a steadfast devotion to her family and simple joys that illuminated her days.
For many years, Corina served as a cook for Reese Air Force Base, where her nurturing spirit was reflected not only in the meals she prepared but also in the camaraderie she shared with coworkers and service members alike. Her kitchen was more than just a place of work—it was a haven of care and comfort that mirrored her generous heart.
Beyond her career, Corina found delight in the quieter, gentler pastimes of life. She loved thrift store shopping, where she uncovered little treasures with the same appreciation and careful eye she bestowed on everything she did. Her home resonated with the laughter and love of family, especially when she cherished taking care of her grandson during his early years. Church outings with her sisters were times of fellowship and faith, deepening bonds and nurturing her soul. An avid reader and enthusiast of seek and find puzzles, Corina found joy and challenge in stories and games that sparked her imagination and kept her mind sharp.
Corina Saldana’s life was a beautiful mosaic of love, dedication, and gentle joy. Though she has passed from this world, the imprint of her tenderness will remain ever-present in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. She is preceded in death by her parents Espiridion and Manuela Martinez; a son David Saldana Sr.; and four sisters, Marcella Anaya, Julia Garcia, Mary Jane Martinez, and Tavita Martinez.
Corina’s legacy is lovingly carried on by those who knew her best. She is survived by her son Raymond Saldana Sr.; a brother Isaac Martinez; a sister Lisa Smith; four grandchildren Raymond Saldana Jr., David Saldana Jr., Elezar Saldana, and Stephanie Cruz ; also a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
