Dorothy Martinez Ruiz

Viewing and visitation for Dorothy Anna Martinez Ruiz, 47 of Lubbock will be from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same day. Arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

Dorothy, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 23, 2022. She was born on November 24, 1974, in Lubbock, to Guillermo and Isabel Martinez. On March 17, 2016, she met James Ruiz in Lubbock, cherishing six loving years together. Dorothy was a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, baking, and her occasional therapy session. Her other past times included enjoying the outdoors, walking, fishing, and camping. However, Dorothy’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her mother Isabel Martinez, a brother Victor Cortez and an infant son Gabriel Tobias.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving companion James Ruiz of Lubbock; two sons Paul Tamez and Joseph Tames both of Missouri; a daughter Anna Tamez of Lubbock; her father Guillermo Martinez of Lubbock; her siblings Mary Cardenas, Margaret Rodriguez, Virginia Martinez Taylor, Rachel Rodriguez, Rita Martinez, Diana Martinez and Gary Martinez of Lubbock.
