Elida Sanchez Chestnut

 

Elida was born March 31, 1932, in Del Rio, Texas to the late Enrique and Antonia Sanchez. In December of 1972 she married Leo Chesnut in Lubbock cherishing thirty-four years of marriage. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2007. Elida was a devoted Catholic and a long-time dedicated member of Saint John Neumann Catholic Church. She worked as a hairstylist for seventy-two years and was also a talented seamstress. In her spare time, Elida enjoyed playing the piano, painting with oil paints, gardening, and traveling. Elida thoroughly enjoyed vacationing in Spain and Italy, where she was able to visit The Vatican. Elida will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.  

 

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Leo Chestnut; her parents Enrique and Antonia Sanchez; her brother, Reynaldo Sanchez, and her sister, Diamantina Sosa.
