Emilio Chavarria, 71 passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 in Lubbock. Services for Mr. Chavarria will be 10:00 am Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father John Rathinam officiating. Burial will follow in Nevels Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. A rosary will be held 7:00 pm Monday, February 19, 2018 at Calvillo Funeral Chapel located in Tahoka.
Emilio was born September 26, 1946 in Natalia, Texas to Emilio & Manuela Chavarria Jr. He married Rosa Linda Benitez on February 24, 1968 in Tahoka. He was a farmer and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, playing with his cats and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa Linda Chavarria of Tahoka; three sons, Emilio Chavarria III, Adam Chavarria, Jose Chavarria all of Tahoka; one daughter, Manuela Chavarria of Tahoka; one brother, Robert Chavarria of Lubbock; one sister, Maria Ramon of Lubbock; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one sister, Esperanza Castillo.
