Esmeralda Herrera

Memorial Service for Esmeralda Herrera, 49, of Tahoka will begin at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2 , 2020 in the Chapel of Calvillo Funeral Home-Tahoka (1303 Ave M, Tahoka, TX 79373). Cremation arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

Ms. Herrera was called to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 23, 2020. She was born on December 4, 1971, in Brownsville to Benito and Alicia Herrera. Esmeralda was a devoted servant of the Lord. She had a heart of gold, a compassionate soul she was always there to help anyone in need. Esmeralda often volunteered and assisted in senior services. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos and traveling. Her family will always remember what reassurance and comfort she brought them through her faith in God.

Survivors include her father Benito Herrera of Tahoka; a brother Mauricio Salazar of Austin; sisters Pearl Dunaway and husband Tim of Lubbock and Sylvia Martinez of Sundown; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother Alicia Herrera (January 11, 1993) and a brother Manuel Salazar.
