Florentina “Flora” Loera, 92, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 in Fort Worth. Services for Mrs. Loera will be 11:00 am, Friday, March 13, 2020 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo, Texas with Rev. Dhass Jeganathan officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. A rosary will be held 6:00 pm, Thursday, March 12, 2020 in The Chapel of Calvillo Funeral Home in Lubbock. Visitation will start on Wednesday March 11, 2020 from 2:00-9:00pm and on Thursday March 12, 2020 from 9:00am-9:00pm.
Florentina was born June 20, 1927 in Geronimo to the late Alejandro and Zeferina Ramos. She married Eduardo Loera on September 2, 1958 in Lorenzo. She was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed life to its fullest. She particularly enjoyed, gardening, cleaning, quilting, entertaining, and especially cooking for everyone. She also had a fondness for painting everything white. However, above all, she loved spending time with her family who loved her dearly and will miss her eternally.
She is survived by her husband Eduardo Loera of Ft. Worth; a son Eduardo Loera Jr. of Indiana; one daughter Gloria Smith-Flores and husband Manuel Flores of Ft. Worth; one sister Agapita Olguin of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a son Martin Juarez; one daughter San Juana Juarez; a sister Teresa Hinojosa; a brother Apolinar Ramos; a grandson Eric H. Loera, and a nephew Tony Olguin Jr.
