George L. Guerrero, 66 passed away October 28, 2013 at University Medical Center. Services for Mr. Guerrero will be 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Calvillo Funeral Home officiated by the family. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.
George was born February 2, 1947 in Lubbock to Jose and Leonora Guerrero. He married Naomi Castillo on November 18, 1967 in Lubbock. He worked as a brick layer for D and L Masonry for 34 years before retiring in 2008 when he became self-employed doing the work he loved until retiring completely from brick laying in 2012. Apart from being a brick layer, George enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Naomi Guerrero of Lubbock; one son, George Guerrero of Muleshoe; three daughters, Angie Bryan, Elizabeth Madrid, Sylvia Veanueva all of Lubbock; four brothers, Daniel Guerrero, Joe Guerrero, Ramon Guerrero, Andres Guerrero all of Lubbock; seven sisters, Eloisa Mora, Elvira Ramirez, Juana Perez, Elda Guerrero, Mariana Rodriguez, Yolanda Gutierrez, Eva Guerrero all of Lubbock; twenty grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Leonora Guerrero; one sister, Adelina Cortez.
