Guadalupe Torres Jr.

Guadalupe Chris Torres Jr, 39, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in Lubbock.  Services for Mr. Torres will be 10:00a.m., Friday, May 31, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Smyer with Rev. Santos Gamez officiating.  Burial will follow in Smyer Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.  A viewing will be held 12:00-9:00pm., Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel in Lubbock.

Guadalupe Chris Torres Jr. was born June 20, 1979 in Lubbock to Guadalupe Sr. and Gloria Torres.   He worked for Continental Airlines as a baggage handler for many years. He was a 1998 High School graduate of Smyer High School. Guadalupe was a humble and giving person who enjoyed many aspects of life especially basketball, football, and music just to name a few.  However, his greatest love was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his father Guadalupe Sr. and his stepmother Irene; two brothers, Nasario Torres and Edward Saenz both of Lubbock; one sister Vicky (John) Quilantan of Brownfield; a niece Brianna Quilantan; a nephew John Lee Quilantan; host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother Gloria (2004).
