Iris Pavon Mestanza, 36 of Lubbock passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Viewing will begin Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Calvillo Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 6:00p.m. the same day. A Celebration of Life will begin on Friday, November 25, 2022, at 10:00a.m. at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Elias Garcia officiating. All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

Iris was born November 6, 1986, in El Salvador to Juan Alberto Sermeno Vasquez and Maria Margarita Mestanza. She later went onto marry Manuel Pavon on February 14, 2018 in Lubbock. Iris, was a homemaker and a great cook. She enjoyed going to church and listening to the word of God. However, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her children. They will always remember going shopping with her and celebrating their birthdays. Iris will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Manuel Pavon of Lubbock; son Jeremy Pavon Mestanza; four daughters Meylin Mestanza, Natalia Mestanza, Zumaya Pavon Mestanza and Jaret Pavon Mestanza; Her parents Juan Alberto Sermeno Vasquez and Maria Margarita Mestanza and stepfather Victor Espinoza; brothers Juan Mestanza and wife Brittney, Omar Mestanza and wife Angelica and Edwin Mestanza and wife Valerie; numerous nieces and nephews all of Lubbock.

El velorio comenzará el miércoles 23 de noviembre de 2022 en Calvillo Funeral Home de 1:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m., con un servicio de oración a partir de las 6:00 p. m. metro. el mismo día. A Celebration of Life comenzará el viernes 25 de noviembre de 2022 a las 10:00 a.m. en la Capilla de la Funeraria Calvillo con el reverendo Elias García oficiando. Iris, era ama de casa y una gran cocinera. Le gustaba ir a la iglesia y escuchar la palabra de Dios. Sin embargo, su mayor alegría en la vida era pasar tiempo con su familia, especialmente con sus hijos. Siempre recordarán ir de compras con ella y celebrar sus cumpleaños.
