Jessie C. Salinas, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away in the early morning of September 9, 2023, at the age of 71. Viewing and visitation will begin Friday, September 15, 2023, 2 p.m.-8 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 6 p.m. the same evening with Deacon Jessie Cantu officiating at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Jessie was born on July 23, 1952, to Domingo and Esuestina Salinas in Lubbock, Texas, he grew up in a loving family that instilled in him the values of compassion and kindness. Later in life on June 2, 1990, Jessie went onto marry Guadalupe Aragon in Roswell, New Mexico. He worked as a Maintenance professional for Walmart for numerous years before retiring.

Jessie had a passion for cars and enjoyed working on them as a mechanic hobbyist. Whether it was tinkering under the hood or cruising down the open road, he found solace in these moments of tranquility. Traveling was another one of Jessie's favorite pastimes; he especially loved taking trips to Roswell and back to Lubbock. These adventures allowed him to explore new places and create cherished memories.

In his spare time, Jessie loved spending quality time with his family. Nothing brought him more happiness than attending family gatherings and playing with his grandchildren in Roswell. These precious moments were filled with laughter and love that will forever hold a special place in their hearts. He was known for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and his joking nature, he always brought laughter and joy to everyone around him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Domingo and Esuestina Salinas.

Jessie is survived by his loving wife, Guadalupe A. Salinas of Lubbock; his son, Michael Salinas of Lubbock; his daughters, Halaria Ornelas and Devette Aragon, both of Roswell, New Mexico, and Jessica Sosa of Lubbock; his brother Joe Salinas and wife Angie of Lubbock; his sister Beatrice Andrade of Lubbock; as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In this time of grief, let us remember the vibrant spirit of Jessie C. Salinas. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. Jessie's legacy will live on through the love he shared with his family and friends. His warm smile and infectious laughter will live forever in our hearts.
