Joe Villela

Services for Joe Villela, age 60 of Lubbock, TX will be on Friday May 12, 2017 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Grace with Father Jim McCartney officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel. Friends and family are invited to pray the rosary at 7 pm on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.

Joe passed away on May 5, 2017 at his home in Lubbock.  He was born on February 1, 1957 in Lubbock, TX, to Evaristo & Esperanza Villela. Joe had an insatiable love for music.  Being an avid guitar player and singer, he performed with local Tejano bands such as Grupo Divercion and Grupo Majesta.  His artistry was not confined only to his music, Joe was also a very skilled Auto Body Technician with a knack for custom paint jobs. Joe had a delightful sense of humor and was the consummate prankster, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his parents, Evaristo & Esperanza Villela; Brothers Bobby with wife Gina Villela and Robert Villela with wife Victoria Villela; Ex-wife Dolores Savedra and sons Joe Villela Jr.wife Clara Valdez Villela and Roman Villela;  Gloria Reyes the mother of his daughter, Valerie Villela with husband Lucio Robeldo; Step
Sons, Samuel & Alex Vela. Grandchildren include Selena Ortega; Dominic Villela; Esequiel Villela; Zayden Villela; Joe Angel Villela; Javian Villela; Gloria Marie Pineda; Samantha Nariha Robeldo. Great Grandchildren include Victoria Ortega.
