Josephine Martinez

Josephine Martinez, 76, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Houston.  Services for Mrs. Martinez will be 10:00 am Saturday, February 3, 2018 at St. John Neumann with Father George Roney officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. A rosary will be held 6:00 pm Friday, February 2, 2018 at Calvillo Funeral Home.

Josephine was born March 19, 1941 in Brownsville to Luis & Rafaela Barrera. She married Alfredo Martinez on October 10, 1959 in Lubbock. She was a home maker and loved sewing, ceramics and playing the lottery. She was a catholic and a loving wife, mother & grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family and grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Henry Martinez, Alfredo Martinez both of Lubbock; four daughters, Ophelia Martinez of La Porte, Yolanda Martinez, Dora Martinez both of Lubbock, Rosemary Martinez of Ft. Worth; two sisters, Maria Trevino, Beatrice Gonzalez both of Alvin; sixteen grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo Martinez; one son, Johnny Martinez; one brother, Lorenzo Cuellar.
