Lee R Cerna

Viewing and visitation for Mr. Lee R. Cerna, 83 of Lubbock will begin 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2025, with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. the same evening. Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Calvillo funeral Home and Chapel with Rev.Tito Ortega officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

Lee R. Cerna, born on July 8, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully at his residence. Lee worked as a custodian for the Lubbock Independent School District and also lending his efforts to Goodwill.

A proud family man, Lee cherished his family deeply and took immense joy in the lives of his grandchildren. He was the loving father of Raul Cerna, Leonardo Cerna, and Oscar Cerna, all of Lubbock. Lee is also survived by his daughters, Gloria Perez and her husband David of Oklahoma City, and Marianna Cerna of Lubbock. His legacy continues with nine grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Lee had a vibrant personality that was reflected in his interests and hobbies. He loved to play his guitar and had a special affinity for western attire. His love for music, particularly blues, was evident in his life, and he enjoyed collecting guitars and turquoise jewelry.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Liandro and Juanita Cerna, and a son, Ernest Cerna. He will be remembered for his kind spirit and joyful presence, leaving behind beautiful memories for those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Lee R. Cerna's warmth and love will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
