In the early morning of Tuesday, October 10, 2023, Mario Martinez, went to be with the Lord. He was born on November 27, 1972, in Lamesa, Texas, to Eduardo and Rosita Martinez. He later went on to graduate from Lubbock High School in 1990. Mario was a very hard worker, remodeling houses always brought him a sense of pride after finishing a job. His attention to detail was often admired by his clients.

Mario's passion for the outdoors was evident, he enjoyed fishing, it always brought him a sense of peace. Aside from fishing, Mario had a love for sports. Tennis and golf were among his favorite activities to engage in during his leisure time. However, it was the Dallas Cowboys that held a special place in Mario's heart. He never missed a game and would fervently cheer for his team with unmatched enthusiasm.

Deeply grounded in his faith, Mario found solace in the teachings of the Bible. His belief in the word was unshakable and he would often seek solace within its pages when faced with life's challenges. This devotion helped him navigate through both joyous occasions and moments of adversity.

His adoration of the Lord fueled his passion to learn more, he began college in Oklahoma with a focus on ministry work. His desire to serve and teach others about the bible and Christian faith resonated deeply within him throughout his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents Eduardo and Rosita Martinez; and a brother Narcisso Martinez

Mario is survived by his two loving sons: Matthew Martinez and Marc Martinez of Hereford Texas; brothers Edward Martinez of Lubbock, Texas, Richard Sanchez of Hereford, Texas; sisters: Augustina (Tina) Gomez of Lubbock, Martha Salas of Woodrow, Texas;  and four grandchildren.
