June 27, 1941 — May 9, 2018
Martin P. Lopez, 76 passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Lubbock. Services for Mr. Lopez will be 10:00 am Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Reymundo Manriquez officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. A rosary will be held 7:00 pm Friday, May 11, 2018 at Calvillo Funeral Home.
Martin was born to Lazaro & Maria Lopez on June 27, 1941 in El Salvador. He worked as a nurse for the Navy in El Salvador and moved to Lubbock in 1980 where he worked for Pyco Industries until his retirement. He was a 3 rd Degree Knight of Columbus and a friend to many as he loved caring for others in any way he could.
He is survived by a daughter, Angelica Maria Lopez de Ruiz of El Salvador; one brother, Jose Luis Lopez of Canyon; four sisters, Maria Irene Lopez Serpas of El Salvador, Mirtala Lopez of Lubbock, Gloria Lopez Rodriguez of Lubbock, Anna Emelia Lopez of Indiana; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by three sisters, Ernestina Esparza, Corina Lopez, Bertha Uriegas.
