Patricia Kay Cowan

A Memorial Service for Patricia “Pat” Kay Cowan, 76 of Lubbock will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2025, with Pastor Les Rutherford officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel.

Patricia Kay Cowan, affectionately known as "Pat," left this world on the evening of Friday, May 2, 2025. Born on December 12, 1948, in Paris, Texas, to the late Delbert Chance and Sally Foust. Later in life on November 27, 1968, Pat married Gary Lee Cowan cherishing forty-two years of a loving marriage before he preceded her in death on October 16, 2010.

Pat was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of many as a devoted medical transcriptionist for Covenant Medical Center and Grace Medical Clinic. Her career was marked not only by her professionalism but also by her warmth and compassion, characteristics that endeared her to those around her.

Life was an adventure for Pat, who enjoyed chasing tornadoes and riding motorcycles. The thrill of visiting a casino and exploring Ruidoso and Colorado brought her immense joy. She had a deep appreciation for nature, often marveling at the beauty of the moon and sunsets. Pat especially loved collecting crosses, angels, and various forms of Native American and Southwestern art, particularly Kokopelli art. Her interests extended to watching wrestling, western movies, and the timeless series, The Andy Griffith Show.

Pat was a loving mother, adoring grandmother and great-grandmother. She embraced her familial roles with open arms and a heart full of love. She was truly everyone's “Mom” and “Nanny”. Her warmth created a welcoming atmosphere wherever she went, and her trademark quote, “Love You To The Moon and Back!” echoed through her family and friends' hearts, a testament to the depth of her love.

Pat's passing leaves a profound void in the lives of her loved ones. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Delbert Chance and Sally Foust; brothers Gary Chance and Larry Delbert Chance; sisters Jereatta Brannum and Jean McDonald

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Shane Cowan of Wolfforth and Shawn Cowan of Lubbock; a daughter Jamie Davis of Lubbock; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
