Paz Corona Nombraña

Paz Corona Nombraña, a cherished mother, devoted wife, and pillar of her community, passed away on the morning of Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the age of 93 years old. Paz was born on January 24, 1933, in Bastrop, Texas, to the late Tiburcio Sr. and Matilda Corona. Later in life on December 23, 1959, Paz went on to marry Juan Nombraña cherishing numerous years of marriage, before he preceded her in death.

As a devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Paz was both a dedicated Crusillista and Guadalupana. She took great pride in making tamales for Our Lady of Guadalupe Jamaicas, an act of love that connected her faith with tradition and family.

Paz’s interests reflected her warm and caring nature. She found joy and solace in her rose garden, tending delicate blooms with patient hands. Cooking was not only a craft but an expression of her love: her kitchen was often filled with the aroma of cherished family recipes, and playing bingo gave her hours of delight and camaraderie.

Throughout her life, Paz exemplified unwavering commitment to her family. She worked tirelessly, always putting their needs before her own. For eighteen years, she was a steadfast employee at Schlotzsky's, where her dedication echoed her deep sense of responsibility and care. But beyond her career, she was known for her gentle heart and nurturing spirit—qualities that made her a beloved listener and counselor in her community.

Paz Nombraña's life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience. Her memory will forever bloom in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, much like the roses she so tenderly nurtured. In every act of kindness and every moment of quiet strength, her spirit endures, a guiding light for generations to come.

She is preceded in death her parents; a brother Tiburcio Corona Jr.; her husband of sixty-seven years Juan; and a sister Tia Gonzales. Children Juanio (Selma), Robert, Sally Frausto and Dolores DeLeon (Sammy-DCD), Ernest (Helen); two granddaughters Heather Perez and Christina and two great grandsons Juan Carmona III and Michael Jr. Lopez

She is survived by her sons Miguel (Ruth), Richard (Terry), and Phillip all of Lubbock; daughters, Sylvia Cristan (Carlos), Estella Gomez (Mickey-DCD), Frances Silvas (Raul) and Rosa Beruman (Johnny) all of Lubbock; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
