Rafael Aguayo, a beloved husband, father, brother, and a steadfast friend, passed away on December 9, 2025. He was born on October 16, 1970, in Lubbock, Texas to the late Jose Jacinto Sr. and Lucia Aguayo. Later in life on November 27, 2013, he married Angela Eason in Lubbock.

Rafael's life was marked by devotion, strength, and a profound commitment to serving others.

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Rafael's military service instilled in him a sense of discipline and duty that he carried throughout his life. After his time in the Marines, he dedicated himself to public service by working as a security guard at Preston E. Smith Unit in Lamesa, Covenant Medical Center and private security. His impact was felt in the community as he later joined the Lubbock Independent School District, where he served in the SPED Department, championing the needs of students with special requirements.

Rafael's passions extended beyond his career. He found joy in the vibrant colors of nature while fishing, the exhilaration of cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, and the warmth of gathering family and friends around the grill, cooking out under the sun. These moments brought him immense happiness and showcased the love he had for those close to him.

Though Rafael's time on earth has come to an end, the warmth of his heart and the strength of his character will continue to inspire and guide those he cherished. He will be forever remembered, and his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jose Jacinto Sr. and Lucia Aguayo; a brother Joe Aguayo Jr. and a sister Elizabeth Aguayo.

He leaves behind his loving wife Angela Aguayo of Lubbock; daughters Mikaela Eason (Crizelda Peralez) of Idalou, Adrianna Aguayo (Christian Rodriguez) of Lubbock, Mallory Gonzalez of Lubbock and Lauren Aguayo of Lubbock; brothers Tomas Aguayo (Alejandra) of Dallas and Robert Aguayo of Austin; sisters Mary Lou Cruz Aguayo of Lubbock, Carmen Aguayo Flores of Lubbock, Teresa Dominguez of Presidio and Alma Leija of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
