In the afternoon of Monday, January 15, 2024, Raymond went to be with the Lord.  He was born on January 13, 1950, in Slaton, to the late Juan and Carmen Ariaz.

He began his career as a mechanic for Sears, where he developed an innate talent in the automotive industry. His dedication and passion for automobiles led him to join O’Reilly’s Automotive later, where he served as a parts specialist for numerous years. Raymond also had experience working for Auto Zone and Valero. His expertise and knowledge were well known among his colleagues and customers.

His family will always remember how he enjoyed joking not only with them but with the numerous customers who became his friends.

Beyond his career achievements, Raymond was a man of many passions and interests. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he could often be found energetically cheering on his team to victory with every touchdown scored. He took great pleasure in cooking and barbecuing delicious meals for his loved ones—a talent that brought people together around the dinner table time and time again. Raymond also spent countless hours outdoors tending to his yard with unwavering dedication and spending time with his beloved dog “Crybaby”.

He is preceded in death by his parents Juan and Carmen Ariaz; a daughter Jennifer Rae Ariaz; a granddaughter Angel Marie Ariaz; a brother Tony Ariaz; sisters Susan Ariaz and Paula Soto.

His memory will forever be cherished by his sons Carlos Ariaz and Rafael Ariaz both of Lubbock; a brother Vince Ariaz of Pampa and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
