Viewing and visitation for Robert G. Flores, 64, of Lubbock will be from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2021 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel-(Lubbock) with a Celebration of Life at 6:00 p.m. Cremation arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.
Robert left to join his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. He was born November 20, 1956 in Pleasanton, Texas to Guadalupe Gutierrez Flores. When Robert was 16 his mother Guadalupe Gutierrez Flores died in 1973, in order to keep the family together his older brother Trinidad and his wife Eva Zepeda took everyone in and raised the family. On November 1, 2014 he married Paula Galvan in Lubbock. He was a welder by trade and worked for Eagle Pitcher for a number of years. Robert enjoyed horseshoes, crafting, and was a master in creating unique pieces of art with his welding skills. He also enjoyed watching movies such as; “Alaska The Last Frontier”, “Mountain Men”, “Alaskan Bush People”, “Life Below Zero” just to name a few and also enjoyed fishing programs and was a lover of nature. He was a person with a unique character, calm and never raised his voice to anyone. His family will always remember and cherish the memories Robert gave them and he will not be forgotten.
Preceding him in death is his mother Guadalupe Gutierrez Flores; a brother Trinidad Gutierrez Zepeda and his wife Eva, whom Robert always knew as “Mom”.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Paula G. Flores; a son Gabriel Flores Sr.; siblings Santos Flores Sr., Juanita Flores, Juan Flores, Adam Flores, Raymond Flores, Susan Valdez, Janie Benticourt, Alex Flores, and Danny Niño; a niece Irma May Gutierrez and a nephew Jose Zepeda; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
