An avid fan of playing washers, Roger found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending Saturdays at his brother Ben's home or listening to music that resonated with his spirit. He enjoyed turning his yard into a sanctuary, planting trees, feeding the birds, and delighting his dogs with snacks. Roger's heart swelled with pride as a loyal supporter of the Dallas Cowboys.
He leaves behind a loving family that includes his wife, Sandra Martinez; his mother, Tomasa Casarez; and his sons, Jesse and Ram. Roger is also survived by his daughters, Samantha Martinez (Sal Perez), and Matty and Patty Nino of Tahoka, alongside ten siblings: Gilbert Martinez and his wife Julia, Carlos Gonzales, Benito Martinez and his wife Sally, Daniel Martinez, and Tony Garza and Melissa. He also leaves behind sisters Alicia Sanchez and her husband Victor, Gloria Martinez, Rosa Martinez, and Sylvia Martinez and her husband Daniel, all of whom are dedicated family members. Roger will be deeply missed by his fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
In remembrance, he is preceded in death by his father, Benito Martinez, as well as his granddaughter, Mariah Santos, his niece Kimberly Ann Perez, and his nephew Frank Perez. Each of these individuals held a special place in his heart and will be remembered fondly.
Roger's legacy of love, work ethic, and family devotion will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
