Rubin Moralez

Rubin Moralez, 76 of Lubbock passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022. Viewing and visitation for Mr. Moralez will begin Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.  with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. the same day at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2022, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Deacon Ramiro Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel.

Rubin was born June 28, 1946, in Floresville, Texas to the late Juan and Ester Moralez.  On June 19, 1975, he married Cathy Arguello in Lubbock. He worked many years as an insurance agent until his retirement. From the beginning of The Dallas Cowboys, Rubin was always an avid and loyal fan. He also enjoyed, fishing, drawing, watching boxing and playing with his dogs “Bella” and “Tiny”. He had a great love for all kinds of music, especially songs by Santana. His family will always remember how he loved to sit outside on his deck, spend time with them, and what a great love he had for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rubin will be greatly missed. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Juan and Ester Moralez; brothers Ricky Moralez, Camillo Moralez, Johnny Moralez, Jimmy Moralez, and baby brother Adoldito Moralez.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Cathy Moralez of Lubbock; sons, Rubin Moralez Jr., and wife Shandi of Lubbock, Johnny Moralez and wife Ashley of Lubbock, Dallas Moralez and wife Sandra of Lubbock; daughter Tabitha Croom and Husband Terenzo of Lubbock; brother George Moralez and wife Sheri of Lubbock; two sisters Sylvia Vasquez of Lubbock, Diana Laney and husband Darrell of Louisiana; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
