Sabas Longoria

Sabas Longoria, 69 passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Tahoka.  Services for Mr. Longoria will be 10:00 am Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Deacon Pete Paniagua officiating.  Burial will follow at Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.  Family will have a rosary 7:00 pm Monday, May 2, 2016 at Calvillo Funeral Chapel in Tahoka.

Sabas was born April 13, 1947 in Charlotte, TX to Sabas & Olivia Longoria. He married Rosa Gutierrez in June of 1968.  He was a catholic and worked as a farmer for most of his life and drilled water wells on the side.  He enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo, singing, dancing, and doing arts & crafts.  Being the jokester that he was, he often wore his dress socks with his sandals and enjoyed making people smile.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa Longoria of Tahoka; two sons, Sabas Longoria Jr., David Longoria both of Lubbock; two daughters, Sylvia Paiz, Margie Paiz both of Sundown; four brothers, Enrique Longoria, Roy Longoria, David Longoria all of Charlotte, Joe Longoria of Crow; four sisters, Isabel Perez of Lubbock, Mary Reyes, Fidelia Perez both of Sundown, Diana Jimenez of Charlotte; twenty grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a daughter Lucy Menchaca (April 6, 2013)
