Sandra Oritz Rodriguez

Sandra Oritz Rodriguez, 64 of Lubbock went to be with the Lord on the evening of Friday, July 4, 2025. She was born on January 28, 1961, in Lubbock, Texas to Emilio and Terry Ortiz. Later in life on May 5, 1979, Sandra married Johnny Castro Rodriguez in Lubbock cherishing forty-five years of a loving marriage.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, she devoted her life to caring for others, embodying the spirit of service that defined her character. Her warm smile and gentle demeanor brought comfort to those around her, and her work was not just a job; it was a calling. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and selflessness, creating bonds and fostering connections that will not be forgotten.

Outside of her professional life, Sandra was known for her love of cooking, often gathering her family around the dinner table to share her culinary creations. Her passion for cleaning kept her home a inviting space filled with love, and her adventurous spirit drove her to travel and explore new horizons whenever possible. Yet, no matter where her life took her, she always made time to spend with her family, who were the fabric of her being. They’re favorite memory of Sandra will always be how she was always spreading joy by simply just joking around.

As we reflect on Sandra’s life, we remember a woman of incredible strength and compassion, whose impact will echo through the hearts of those she loved. Her legacy is one of kindness, adventure, and unwavering commitment to her family. She will be profoundly missed but forever cherished by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her mother Terry Ortiz and her son Erik Rodriguez (December 20, 2021).

She is survived by her beloved husband Johnny Castro Rodriguez; daughters, Amanda and Stephanie Rodriguez; her father, Emilio Ortiz; a sister, Eloisa Ortiz and four grandchildren all of Lubbock.
