Yetta J. Martinez, 45 of Lubbock passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021. Viewing and visitation will begin Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel (Lubbock) from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. A Celebration of Life will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 25, 2021, at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel (Lubbock) with Jeff Reese officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.
Yetta was born August 6, 1976, in Lubbock, Texas to the late Louie and Olivia Mora. On December 4, 1993, Yetta married Antonio Martinez Jr. in Lubbock, Texas. Yetta worked as Registrar for Lubbock Soccer Association for several years in addition to serving on the board for several years prior. She had a very giving heart and dedicated her life to volunteering for Lubbock Cooper ISD, Lubbock Soccer Association, many various charitable causes around the Lubbock area and helping to arrange a Toys for Tots toy drive alongside her husband in honor of their daughter, Evangeline Janie Martinez. She found joy in being outdoors, tending to her plants, decorating and celebrating her favorite holiday with her annual Halloween kids’ festival and spending as much time as possible with family and friends. She had a tremendous love for her children and grandchildren, spoiling them at every chance possible.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Ofelia Gonzalez, parents Louie and Olivia Mora and a daughter Evangeline Janie Martinez.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Antonio Martinez Jr. of Lubbock, 2 sons Joshua Antonio Martinez and wife Cassandra, Malakai Esteban Martinez both of Lubbock; one daughter Marissa O. Martinez of Lubbock; granddaughters Brooklynn Rae Martinez and Evelynn Kae Martinez; brother Carlos Mora of Lubbock; sister in law Emily Powers of Brownfield; nieces Christina Faith Mora of Lubbock, Elizabeth Hope Mora of San Antonio, Samantha Love and husband Armando Villalobos of Lubbock; nephew Titus Arias of Brownfield; grandnephew Christian Parker Lee; grandnieces Daisy Rae Rosales, Liliana Sophia, Viviana Elise & Audiana Grace; cousins John Gonzalez Jr., Le Tricia Gonzalez, Noah Gonzalez, Luna Gonzalez, Loki Gonzalez, John Gonzalez III and Suni Gonzalez.
