Angelita De Leon

Angelita De Leon, of Tahoka, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 2, 2021 at the age of 82. She was born August 26, 1938, in Victoria, Texas, to Guadalupe Trevino and Dominga Rodriguez.

Angelita was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, quilting, and cooking, especially tamales. She loved to travel. Angelita’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a devout Catholic.

Angelita is survived by her sons, Benito De Leon, Jr. and wife Shannon of Edna, Texas, Jose De Leon of Washington, Manuel De Leon and wife Jennifer of Tahoka, Texas, and Fabian De Leon of Tahoka, Texas; daughters, Maria De Leon of Petty, Texas, Teresa Ochoa and husband Salomon of Lubbock, Texas, and Yolanda De Leon of Tahoka, Texas; and sisters, Francis Briones of Victoria, Texas, Paula Ramirez of Houston, Texas, and Beatrice Perez of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Benito P. De Leon; her parents, Guadalupe and Dominga Trevino; and brother, Guadalupe Trevino, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Gabriel Flores, Bear Villareal, Joseph Villareal, Nikolas De Leon, Jeremiah De Leon, and Venita De Leon.

Honorary Pallbearers will be B’anca De Leon, Marcia Balderas, AngieLee Salinas, Abigail De Leon, and Ana De Leon.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 pm in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel in Edna, Texas. Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 am, on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna. Interment to follow in the Latin American Cemetery of Edna.
