Carmen Garcia

Viewing and visitation for Carmen Garcia, 78, of Slaton will be from 10:00 a.m.to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2021 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary beginning at 6:00 pm. the same day. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton with Deacon Felipe Maldonado officiating. All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.

Carmen left to join her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 5, 2021.  She was born January 22, 1943 in Slaton, Texas to the late Doroteo and Seberiana Martinez. In 1959, she would go onto marry Bernedino “Veke” Garcia in Slaton. Carmen was Catholic, she enjoyed attending church and praying for all who needed peace. A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to music, reading and collecting clocks. However, Carmen desired deep in her heart for her family to always be happy.

Preceding her in death are her parents Doroteo and Seberiana Martinez; and by a grandson Adam Garcia.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Bernedino “Veke” Garcia of Slaton; two sons Ben Garcia of Lubbock and  Sammy Garcia of Slaton; three daughters Brenda Martinez of Slaton, Diana Reyes of Lubbock and Susanna Garcia of Austin; ten grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren.

According to local and state guidelines, facemasks will be required at all times during visitation and funeral services. Temperatures will be taken upon entering funeral home
