Jimmie "Jim" Ivie

The family of Jimmie C. Ivie, 76 of Lubbock will receive friends and family on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 5:30PM-6:30PM at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. With viewing beginning the same day from 4:00PM- 8:00PM. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 10:00AM at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with Benny Guerrero Jr. officiating. Military Honors burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

“Jim” went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. He was born on February 19, 1944 in Uvalde, Texas to Sherman and Lula Ivie and grew up in Post, Texas. Later, in life on October 10, 1964, he married the love of his life Carol Plunk in Amarillo, Texas cherishing fifty-five years of marriage. He enlisted into the United States Air Force on October 10, 1966 and served honorably in The Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged from active duty on February 3, 1976. Jim was a business owner and owned several businesses namely A-Ivie’s Transmission Shop, he had owned a horse racing club and raced horses for numerous years, as well as owned and operated Kemo-Sabe R.V. Park. Jim was known to be kindhearted and will always be remembered as a supportive and generous soul.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents; brothers Clarence Ivie and Ferrell Ivie; sisters Barbara Sue Garvin, Bobbie Ivie, Wanda Louise Ivie, and Helen Walters.

Survivors include his loving wife Carol Ivie of Lubbock; sons Jay Ivie and Johnny Ivie both of Lubbock; a brother Dennis W. Ivie of Lubbock; a sister Joyce Kroff of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren Josh Ivie, Noah Ivie and Hayden Ivie all of Lubbock; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
