Martin Salas

Viewing and visitation for Martin Salas, 79, of Lubbock will be from 1:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2021 at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary beginning at 6:00 pm. the same day.  Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at City of Lubbock Cemetery with Father Rudolf Crasta officiating. All arrangements were made under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home and Chapel.

Martin left to join his Lord and Savior on Friday January 22, 2021.  He was born February 5, 1941 in Municipio Rioverde, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to the late Martin and Anselma Salas. He married Maria Barbara Jaramillo on May 4, 1967 in Mexico. Martin was a hard worker and worked for Farmers Co-Op Gin as a welder for many years. He was a Catholic by faith. Martin was a jack of all trades and was able to fix and build just about anything.  He was a big Rangers fan, enjoyed gardening, playing solitaire, read books and collect coins. Most of all, Martin enjoyed being with his family.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers; Salustio Salas and Hipolito Salas; two sisters; Bertha Mata and Maria Elena Salas.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Maria Barbara Salas; one son, Martin Salas Jr. and wife Lisa, three daughters; Maria Jaramillo, Laura Salas, and Veronica Salas and husband Rejino; one brother, Enrique Salas; three sisters, Maria de la Paz Salas Garcia, Maria Felix Salas Montano, and Gloria Salas; fifteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

According to local and state guidelines, facemasks will be required at all times during visitation and funeral services. Temperatures will be taken upon entering funeral home
