Sherry Wisian

August 9, 1943 — December 10, 2020

Sherry Ann Humphrey Wisian, born August 9, 1943 in Ft Sumner NM to Bill & Audrey Humphrey, passed peacefully into Heaven on December 10, 2020. Sherry married her best friend and love of her life, Hilbert Lee Wisian, in Muleshoe, Texas, on October 20, 1967. She was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, daughter, sister, Aunt, friend, and follower of Jesus. Knowing that she desperately wanted a family, God had a beautiful plan to give her three children through the miracle of adoption. When she married Hilbert, she became a mother to two young sons, but they wanted to give the boys a sister. When all hope had faded, she was so excited to get the call to go meet a baby girl. God had given her the family she had prayed for and nothing could have made her life any more complete. Her greatest joy was being a wife and mother. She embraced her family and loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

Sherry had a heart of gold and genuinely loved people. Hilbert and Sherry were youth sponsors at their church for many years. She had a passion for kids and never turned one away that needed help. She gave hugs freely to anyone who would accept one.

Sherry graduated from Hart High School and went on to attend Jessie Lee's Hair Academy in Lubbock. She was a hair stylist in Muleshoe for over 20 years. She also has a successful career with Home Interiors & Gifts earning many of the company’s top awards. She concluded her professional career managing Superior Med-Equip in Muleshoe where her passion for helping others was able to shine.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bill Humphrey & Audrey Humphrey and a brother Richard Humphrey.

Those left to carry on her legacy of love are her husband Hilbert, children Jim and Cindy Wisian, Michael and Rusti Wisian, and LeAnn and Danny Gage all of Lubbock and her sister, Judy Logsdon, of Anna, TX.

Her proudest accomplishment was her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Gregory Cole, Katie and Carter Wisian, Mikah Wisian and Peyton and Dylan Douglass, Ali and Lana Eagle-King, Tiffany, Jonathan and McKenna Chinners, Thomas Eagle, and Max, Kayla, KK (Konstantine) and Storie Gage. She was also loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends. The staff of Golden Age Nursing Home became her extended family the last two and a half years of her life, especially through the COVID pandemic.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Canyon United Methodist Church, 217 FM 1729 in Lubbock, Texas.
